Apple Is Not The Big Apple

Filed under: apple — The Mad Admin @ 10:01 am

Wired Article

Apple is trying to stop the big apple from having an Apple as it’s Logo.

The Big Apple has a new logo, and Apple says: Drop dead.

At issue is the emblem for New York City’s GreeNYC campaign, which has started to appear around the city on bus shelters, hybrid gasoline-electric taxicabs and even Whole Foods shopping bags.

The GreeNYC logo shows a stylized apple with a stalk and a leaf. It bears a resemblance to Apple’s famous logo — a resemblance Apple says infringes on its trademark.

The city has applied for a trademark on the logo, but Apple has filed a formal opposition (.pdf) obtained by Wired.com.

The Cupertino, California, company calls for the trademark to be denied, claiming the city’s logo will confuse people and “seriously injure the reputation which [Apple] has established for its goods and services.”

I don’t know about you but I don’t think any one, and I mean anyone would confuse Apple (or Zombie HQ as I call them) with the greatest city in the world, also known as the Big Apple.

What is you opinion?

Apple Is Evil–Wake Up FanBoys

Warning–This post may raise the blood pressure of Apple Fanboys. If you are a FanBoy you might want to just jump back into you IPhone, recharge you IPOD, and make a payment on you IDEBT.  I am no Apple Fan.  Now the Post.

Wiki

Apple has released another browser version, Safari 3.1.

Its’s better, faster, stronger…blah blah blah.

I don’t care.  Apple sheep will follow anything that  Apple puts out there.  Well I have some news for you.

Apple Is Evil

They are a corporation.  They are interested in making money.  Period.  They are not making things to make the world better.  They are not any better than Microsoft, just smaller.  If they can expand their market they will.  Case in point Safari 3.1.

Question:   How do you penetrate the browser market on Microsoft Windows machines when you have no history and users have no complelling reason  to want your browser?

Answer from Apple:  Well they have ITUNES and QUICKTIME lets make the Safari Browser a software updateand then have the update software tell them there is an update.  People always install our updates, even though they don’t install our browser.

So Apple does it.  They send their browser out to the world of windows seruptisciously by using the ITUNES updater.  Ummm EVIL!!!

If you don’t see it you deserve to have apple rip your wallet out through your ass.  These guys are a company and this behavior is wrong.  People not getting upset about it is also wrong.  Also if Microsoft tried to distribute software to the world using an update system (They do have it) they would be called on it.  So I am calling Apple on this one.

Apple You Are Evil.

Cnet Story

It was freezing cold and snow was starting to come down, but at 2:30 p.m. EST there were already several hundred people waiting in line at the new Apple Store on West 14th St. in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, which which opens at 6 p.m. One estimate put the crowd at about 600 people with several hours still to go.

The first person in line, a high schooler, had showed up at 1 a.m. That’s not a typo. He told CNET News.com that by 3:30 or 4 a.m., more people started to join him. But the line really started to take off in the early afternoon, as students were let out for the weekend (some schools in the area close early on Fridays) and grown-up Apple fans cleared out of their offices in favor of lining up in the freezing cold.

Getting An Iphone 68 Days Before Anyone Else….$200 Bucks

Filed under: Iphone, apple — The Mad Admin @ 9:31 am

Yep Steve just stuck his hand so deep into his fans pockets that he was able to check their prostate.

A $200 dollar price drop on the IPhone should piss off everyone (1,000,000 people according to apple) but since they are the core apple fans they don’t mind donating money to a millionaire or is he a billionaire now.

Whatever I am not worried about it, I don’t have an IPhone and I am not getting one.

Thanks Steve, for renewing my smugness of not being an apple fan.

The Plan.

Filed under: Iphone, apple — The Mad Admin @ 11:01 am

So this is the plan.

1 Make a phone that is locked down. No 3rd party apps
2 Can’t have a spare battery or change it out when it dies
3 Make a 4 Gig music player, yes 4 not 40 gig.
4 Also put a third tier browser on for internet, no add ons.
5 We take that and put it on the slower version of cell phone broadband.

Take everything add a 2 year service plan and a $600 price for the phone, Monthly charges going from 60 -100 bucks a month.

Yep thats the plan.

Anyone besides Steve jobs would be thrown out on his ass for having such a plan. But reality distortion fields do exists. Ask the sheep sitting infront of the stores, in 100 degree weather.

Shut Up About the iPhone, Already!

Great Article from John C Dvorak

This is the last week of Apple iPhone hype, hyperbole, and hand-wringing. Oh wait, I mean the last week of pre-iPhone hype, hyperbole, and hand-wringing—we have a few more post-iPhone months left on the calendar. I am sick of it. It’s all anyone talks about. It dominates the news. It dominates the podcasts and videocasts and magazines

OK so now we have a phone running OS X Crap. How are we going to get that to synch with the exchange servers.

I hope Good Link gets a client soon. I know our brokers are going to have these very soon.
