You Ever…..

Filed under: Something to Talk About — The Mad Admin @ 11:21 am

You Ever

Have someone give you site design advice but when you see their site it sucks?

Have a great website name to find out it has been taken, and is home of a out of date lime green blog?

Have people try to explain something to you and they are getting it completely wrong and won’t stop?

Have to call tech support for a computer issue and have to go through all the idiot question, even though your an IT tech wiz? (I hate this one, yes I rebooted)

Have a user not update their PC because they think the updates will f*ck up their PC, but they don’t understand how all this spyware gets on their PC?

Have an IT department that warns everyone else not to open attachments, but they will while logged in as a domain admin?

Have an IT department that installs monitoring equipment for internet and network monitoring, and exempt themselves ASAP?

Had a great idea, and no time to implement it?

Had a young guy at work that just won’t take advice, and is making mistakes you made at his age when you wouldn’t take advice?

Had a user call you and another member of an IT team, not letting them know he is having two people working on the same problem, just so he can check the answer he is getting from one against the other? (He can say bye bye to the internet today, pissed me off)

Have someone on a committee as a co-chair doing no work and taking half the credit and doing no work, and you can’t drop them because if he isn’t “involved” then others will drop out of the project? (Happening right now )

Look like an exoskeleton suit..It’s a marvel world after all.

Live Science has a write up on Power Suits to make the human being stronger.

Reminds me of Marvel Comic and the Exoskeletons that would show up in the comics. Pretty cool that tech is catching up with the comics but why is it always Asia first?

And finally tonight, a Special Comment about President Clinton’s interview. The headlines about them are, of course, entirely wrong. It is not essential that a past President, bullied and sandbagged by a monkey posing as a newscaster, finally lashed back.

It is not important that the current President’s “portable public chorus” has described his predecessor’s tone as “crazed.”

Our tone should be crazed. The nation’s freedoms are under assault by an administration whose policies can do us as much damage as Al-Qaeda; the nation’s “marketplace of ideas” is being poisoned, by a propaganda company so blatant that Tokyo Rose would’ve quit. Nonetheless.

The headline is this: Bill Clinton did what almost none of us have done, in five years. He has spoken the truth about 9/11, and the current presidential administration.

“At least I tried,” he said of his own efforts to capture or kill Osama Bin Laden. “That’s the difference in me and some, including all of the right-wingers who are attacking me now. They had eight months to try; they did not try. I tried.”

AT&T decides to bring broadband call center back onshore

9/25/2006 2:19:45 PM, by Eric Bangeman

AT&T will be returning approximately 2,000 call center jobs to the US, as the company has decided to shutter an Indian call center that handles tech support calls for the telecom’s broadband service. AT&T cited cost as the primary reason for bringing the jobs back to the US, saying that an agreement with the Communications Workers of America on salary and benefits make having the call center employees on its staff feasible.

“We’re pleased that the Communications Workers of America has recognized the mutual importance of creating these jobs with competitive wages and benefits that enhance the company’s ability to compete while creating good jobs,” said Bill Blase, AT&T executive vice president for Labor Relations.

Is it really all about AT&T suddenly deciding that a US call center would be cost competitive with India, or are there other factors at work here? India has been a popular destination for tech-related jobs in the US due in no small part to the large population of English-speaking workers in that country who are also technically proficient.

Companies have also been increasingly willing to offshore call centers, which occasionally causes a backlash with their customers. Dell decided to stop routing tech support calls for some of its corporate products to India after complaints from their business customers. At the time, a Dell spokesperson said that the company’s customers were telling them that they “didn’t like the level of support they were getting” from its Indian call center.

So now the USA is stealing Indian jobs…Ironic.

President Clinton–Kicks Ass.

The Full transcript of the FOX ambush. FOX should have to register as an arm of the GOP, all the free work they do for them is sick.

I like the answers President Clinton gave and it was nice to see someone talk without tripping over his tounge and knowing the facts upfront.

Way to go Mr. Clinton!!!
