Fucktard Of The Week—The Deleter

Filed under: Fucktard, Fucktard of the week — The Mad Admin @ 10:18 am

This one is for you. You know who you are, you are quick to click, never read, you use a computer on instinct instead of taking the time to think about what you are doing. Yes you are the Deleter.

You have confidence that IT has a backup and can fix whatever you screw up, and you put it to the test all the time. Well this time it fails.

User: Yeah MadAdmin, I deleted all the images in 775PS and need to know if I can get them back.

TMA: How did it happen?

User: I selected them all hit delete and clicked OK to delete them.

TMA: So you wanted to delete them then?

User: No, I didn’t mean to do it.

TMA: But the computer did exactly what you told it to do?

User: Umm, yeah…I guess so.

TMA: Then I am glad to hear that the Computer Systems are working normally and not causing you any problem. But I’d warn you to try be careful, until we get the ESP Module developed the PC will continue to do what you tell it and not what you’d want it to do.

User: wha..

TMA: Thanks for calling and letting us know we have responsive systems and have a nice day. Restores can take up to a week to process we will see if we have them, but I wouldn’t hold out hope. Backups have been buggy lately.

User: A WEEK. Hell I’ll just snap new picture.

TMA: Great Ticket Closed. Have a good day, and lets be careful out there.

Yes You, The Deleter, is now the winner of The Fucktard Of The Week. Congrats

Germaine Rants On All Girl Car Wash

Filed under: IllWillPress, Rants, iLL WiLL — The Mad Admin @ 12:51 pm

IllWillPress All Girl Car Was

GERMAINE IS NOT SO HAPPY WITH A LOCAL SCHOOL’S “ALL GIRL CAR WASH”

This is funny because I was saying the same thing, but I didn’t have a jingle about clean as a nipple. But these ALL GIRL Car Washes are all over Jersey. Every Cheerleading team seems to think it is mandatory. I have seen young girls (YES GIRLS) standing on the side of the road in bikinis holding signs to lure men into the car wash.

What message is this giving to the girls: Sell Sex Girls.

What Message Is It Giving To The Guys: Sure She Is 15, But Look At That Body.

Come on, it is time for these groups to smarten up and stop doing dumb ass fund raising stunts like this.

But IllWill was funny about it.

I am back from Vacation

Filed under: camping, vacation — The Mad Admin @ 8:16 am

Lotto did not pan out so I am back in the office.

Vacation was good but wet. Camping for a few days, no phone, no computer, no blackberry, no sun. It rained, a lot. We had 2 lightening strikes in Camp. One hit ground about 200 feet from the covered eating area, people were eating. The other hit a tree about 11:30 PM. Big bang and the next day found the tree and it had the bark blown right off its trunk. Behold the power of nature. (No Camera With Me So Please Imagine a Dead tree)

But I am now back at work and trying to get motivated.

CA CERT

Filed under: CAcert, Security — The Mad Admin @ 10:23 am

CA Cert

Just found this place. CA CERT. If you need an SSL cert and don’t have cash, then this might fit your bill.

You register, add your domain, verify your domain and you are on your way to getting your cert.

Now for the down side. They are not a recognized signing authority like Vera sign.

Here is there blurb about themselves:

About CAcert.org

CAcert.org is a community driven, Certificate Authority that issues certificates to the public at large for free.

CAcert’s goal is to promote awareness and education on computer security through the use of encryption, specifically with the X.509 family of standards. We have compiled a document base that has helpful hints and tips on setting up encryption with common software, and general information about Public Key Infrastructures (PKI).

For the enthusiast looking to dip their toe in the water, we have an easy way of obtaining certificates you can use with your email program. You can use these not only to encrypt, but to prove to your friends and family that your email really does come from you.

For administrators looking to protect the services they offer, we provide host and wild card certificates which you can issue almost immediately. Not only can you use these to protect websites, but also POP3, SMTP and IMAP connections, to list but a few. Unlike other certificate authorities, we don’t limit the strength of the certificates, or the use of wild card certificates. Everyone should have the right to security and to protect their privacy, not just those looking to run ecommerce sites.

If you’re extremely serious about encryption, you can join CAcert’s Assurance Programme and Web of Trust. This allows you to have your identity verified to obtain added benefits, including longer length certificates and the ability to include your name on email certificates.

CAcert Inc. is a non-profit association, incorporated in New South Wales Australia.

PageFlakes

TheMadAdmin’s Page on Pageflakes

Pageflake is a cool web 2.0 site. It uses AJAX and lets you build you own customizable page. OK I know you are saying yeah, just like google and yahoo. But there is a difference, these guys are heading into the social aspect of personal pages.

You make you page, lets say you gather resources on Chuck Norris. You put your page together and get it all on one page. You then can pagecast. Publish it to the world and become a resource for others to use and check. You can also add your own content. You are now a provider to the world on information on Chuck Norris. Why, I don’t know, but none the less you are famous.

Every node you add is a Flake. They can be any RSS feed, or one of the 250,000 already made flakes.

Check it out. I think it is a pretty cool concept.

Filed under: GeekLikeMe, design — The Mad Admin @ 8:49 am

Great Resource

Everybody loves lists, so I thought it would be nice if I share the lists that are useful to me and to which I often get back.

1. 101 ideas to get more freelance work and generate new clients leads
I usually don’t like too long lists, but this one is really good to get some new promotion ideas or see if you are doing every important things you should as a freelancer.
2. 25 best free quality fonts
I hope that you know you shouldn’t be using licensed fonts without paying, in this list there are some good alternatives.
3. Where can i find textures and background images?
The answer in the post ;)

Found this gem on Geeklikeme.net.

Users

Filed under: Fucktard, Fun, User Stories, dumbass — The Mad Admin @ 8:34 am

I feel a rant coming on.

THE USER without this person many of us in the tech biz would be out of a job. But that being said there are still some things about users that just drive me crazy, and this being the internet i figured I’d make a list.

  • Users think they are the most important thing in the world and when they call you should drop everything and help them. This is wrong because god nows it is the tech that is the most important person why else would every one call me.
  • Users Lie. Man do they lie. When you go to a machine that is covered in spyware and viruses the user will say “I Only use it for Work” mean while a quick search for jpegs show you more porn than has ever been printed in the pages of Playboy. Then the user blames someone else. Hey User Man up and admit it.
  • Users think we are psychic. They send a cryptic message of HELP from their yahoo account and then a day latter complain that we never called. USER we don’t know who you are, we replied to your yahoo account saying you should call us. Read your email, fucktard.
  • Users will not tell us what they did. It just happened. Then later you find out they were cleaning up the c:\ and got rid of that nasty WINDOWS directory. Back to the abacus dumbass
  • Users never read emails. You send out emails for weeks telling about a system down time and no matter what you will have a user calling and screaming about the system being down. Once you tell them you know it was scheduled they will say they never got the email. These users should be whipped.
  • Users are the biggest security risk on the network. WHY do they think their job is to get around any and all security policies the company puts in place. Fuckers want to install all the same shit at work that screwed up their home PC
  • Home PC. No I Will No Fix You Home PC
  • The User “I have a question” see list item about HOME PC.

Thats it for now, a user has shown up.

Robots have been roaming the streets of Iraq, since shortly after the war began. Now, for the first time — the first time in any warzone — the machines are carrying guns.
