A couple of months ago I had the good fortune to participate in an online Adobe seminar that was being hosted by Tom Bray. The topic was easyMVC. I had spent months looking and trying different frameworks for Adobe Flex and I was pretty set on cairngorm.
Tom’s presentation changed that and I am now working using easyMVC by Tom Bray.
- It has no Library to load, so it is light.
- It is easy to understand.
- If you can write custom events and handlers you can do easyMVC
- You can pick up the major concepts quickly
- Did I mention it is easy? Well it is.
I had to struggle with cairngorm but easyMVC just seemed to fit my way of thinking. All that being said I started a project using easyMVC that also required AMFPHP 1.9. And I stumbled, badly. I asked Tom some questions and he gave me answers on how to do remoting with easyMVC and I was able to get my project moving.
I also had a question from a one of my blog readers (yes people do read this blog, sometimes) about using amfPHP with easyMVC and it struck me that it was time to give back to the community. So I made a sample application using easyMVC and AMFPHP.
(Click for Sample) Right Click and the source code is there.

According to the gentleman who had this device, it ran faster that the desktop emulator they have for developers, and the OS is put together a lot better on the backend than Windows Mobile 5. Not much of comparison since all of us is working with Windows Mobile 6 these days, but its something new.
Thanks to Danny for the heads up on this one.

Just Got Mass Effect for Christmas. Very Cool Game. I have already cut sleep down to 4 hours a night to get game time and I can’t wait to get home again to play. The story is enthralling, I need to know what is going to happen. I am fighting the urge to look online to see what happens. I don’t want to ruin my game play.
Merry Christmas to all!!!

There my Christmas card mail is complete.

My god they killed R2.

Man,
The Interwebs are full of stories about people seeking Wii.
It shocks me that this simple console that has been released for over a year is still in short supply. I am just glad that I got out before thanks giving and bagged one. Lined up at 7 AM and got the bastard in November.
So Nintendo, get your act together and get those Wiis made and out the door next time.
New Site
I have started a new site for all those things that make me say this is ridiculous. The Site Address is http://thisisridiculo.us/.
I like it and it gives me someplace to vent.

Story about in car navigation that puts a red line on your dash, via laser (I Love lasers), and marks out your route as you drive. If you need to turn left it bends the line left, but it is superimposed on the real world so it points left and it is really pointing at the road you have to turn at.
Very cool. It’s not that I get lost, but I have been known to take scenic tours while looking for places.
You Know:
- If you say it is simple, you will get lost in the details.
- If you say by Friday, you will be lucky to get it a week from Friday.
- If the code worked fine in one application, some strange new bug will develop when you re-use the code.
- Having Free Time will attract things that eat free time (System failures, house chores, spouses with lists)
- Anything designed to save time, will cost more time than you think.
- Giving work to someone will most times will cause more work for you, fixing their errors.
- When you are stuck on a coding problem, the answer will come to you when you aren’t thinking about it at all.
- Holiday Parties are just ways to see who has social skills
.
You know I have a coding issue, since I am making a you know list.
